- Salt and pepper , to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tsp paprika (optional, for a smoky flavor)
FOR THE CHEESE SAUCE:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk (whole milk or 2% works best)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (sharp or mild, your choice)
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for extra gooeyness)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper , to taste
