When I was younger, I couldn’t get enough of this dish and begged my mom to make it all the time.

Preparing the dough:
In a large bowl, combine 5 dl of the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Heat the butter, milk, and water to approximately 43°C (110°F). Add to the dry ingredients, then mix in the eggs and vanilla. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Let rise:
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Prepare the filling:
Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a baking pan.
Assemble the bread:
Knead the dough and roll it out into a large rectangle. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle evenly with cinnamon sugar and sliced apples. Cut into strips, stack them, and then cut the stack into smaller pieces. Arrange them vertically in the baking pan. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes. Bake:
Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the bread is golden brown and fragrant. Meanwhile, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to prepare the glaze.
Finish and enjoy:
Pour the glaze over the warm bread, let it set briefly, and serve immediately. Every slice that pulls apart is soft, buttery, and bursting with cinnamon and apple goodness.
