Morning cookies my grandmother used to make: I finally found the recipe I’ve been looking for!

Prepare the dough – in a bowl, combine the cheese, egg, oil, sweetener (or sugar), salt, and vanilla.

Add the dry ingredients – add the flour mixed with the baking powder and knead into a smooth, soft dough.

Shaping – Pinch off pieces of dough, shape into balls, flatten slightly, and make a hole in the center (like a donut).

Baking – Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 180°C (350°F) (top and bottom) for about 18–20 minutes, until lightly golden brown.

Decoration – Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar.

Tips:
For a more nutritious version, use erythritol instead of sugar and choose low-fat cottage cheese.

The cookies taste best fresh, but they can be stored in a sealed container for up to 2 days.

Grated lemon or orange zest will give them a fresher flavor.
