Remove any pillowcases or protective covers from your pillows. These items can usually be washed separately.
3. Prepare your washing machine:
Place your dirty pillowcases in the washing machine. Depending on the size of your washing machine and the number of pillows, you may need to wash them in batches.
4. Add detergent and baking soda:

For extra power and freshness, sprinkle on half a cup of baking soda. Baking soda helps eliminate odors and brightens whites.
5. Set your machine:
Select a gentle cycle with warm water. The warm water helps break down oil and dirt. Let the washing machine fill and agitate for a few minutes to distribute the detergent and baking soda.
6. Soak and Shake:
Pause the program after a few minutes to place the pillows in the soapy water. Then resume the program and let it run through the wash and rinse cycles.
7. Add White Wine Vinegar:
Add white wine vinegar instead of fabric softener to the rinse cycle. White wine vinegar will help remove any remaining detergent residue and give the pillows a fresh scent. You can use about 1/2 cup of white wine vinegar.
