Don’t throw them away anymore. Boil eggshells and say goodbye to them.
Eggshells are also widely used in horticulture. One of their most common uses is as a natural fertilizer. When ground and mixed with soil, they enrich it with calcium and help balance pH levels. This is especially beneficial for crops such as tomatoes, peppers and eggplants, which require more calcium.
Larger pieces of shells can be placed around plants to create a natural barrier against snails and slugs. The sharp edges repel these pests without the need for pesticides.
Another option is to add the shells to your compost: they speed up the composting process and enrich the compost with minerals.
