Cleaning Your Iron: The Quick 30-Second Tip You Need to Know

1 dishwasher tablet,
white vinegar,
cotton pads,
paper towels. Step-by-step trick.
Preheat the iron. Plug the iron in and set it to maximum temperature. Important: Turn off the steam function to avoid accidents. Let the iron warm up for a moment.

Prepare the tablet.
Remove the dishwasher tablet packaging. The detergent contained within effectively removes residue.

Rub the tablet directly onto the heated soleplate.
Hold the soleplate gently (be careful not to burn yourself) and gently rub it against the heated soleplate. The heat will melt the soleplate in seconds and help remove any deep-seated dirt. Pay particular attention to any black or rough areas.

Wipe with a paper towel.
Wipe with a paper towel to remove any melted residue. The soleplate should now shine again.

Clean the steam vents.
Dip a cotton ball in a small amount of white vinegar and gently wipe each hole in the soleplate. The vinegar will dissolve any scale blocking the steam flow.

Finish and dry.
Use a new paper towel to wipe the soleplate and dry the vents. Your iron is now ready for use, clean and smooth.
