We love it: it slims the figure, lifts an outfit and simplifies our busy mornings. But when worn close to the face, black can accentuate natural shadows and make facial features seem harsher. If you really love this color – and we get it! – choose it on the lower half, or soften its intensity with a bright scarf, bright jewelry or discreet makeup.
Navy blue that is too deep: when elegance lacks shine
Dark blue is often considered a “safe” alternative to black… but it can have a similar effect when it is very saturated. The result: the complexion appears less even, less vibrant, as if the light is no longer reflected properly. To maintain its elegance without losing radiance, choose lighter blues: royal blue, indigo, peacock blue… true allies for a healthy glow.
Pastels: Soft on paper, less flattering on the skin.
They evoke summer ice cream, light sweaters and the return of warmer weather. However, pastels can sometimes provide too little contrast to the skin, giving a slightly tired look. There is no reason to banish them: they can be worn in small details, on accessories, or you can opt for slightly bolder versions such as a bright raspberry pink or a lively sky blue.
Khaki green: trendy, yes… flattering, not always
